Piano Recital: Improvisations and Original Compositions

On 11 December 2024, pianist and composer Billy Contreras will present an evening of piano music at Dr. Schreyger’s Kunstpalast, captivating the audience through a fusion of improvisation and classical tradition. With a focus on improvisation and his own compositions, he creates soundscapes that both move and inspire reflection.
At the heart of his programme are his original musical themes, marked by creative spontaneity and the clear structure of classical music. Inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach, Contreras weaves sounds that feel both familiar and new – each piece a fleeting moment, unique to this evening.
His improvisations are more than spontaneous creations – they are personal narratives in sound, revealing emotions and ideas in their purest form. Guided by his own motifs and harmonic explorations, Contreras transports his audience to emotional and sonic landscapes.
